Medical Records Platform eKincare Raises INR 1 Cr. Funding from US Based Adroitent

Hyderabad-based Aayuv Technologies Pvt Ltd., the company behind the online cloud-enabled medical records platform eKincare, has secured INR 1 Cr. in angel round of funding from US-based healthcare firm Adroitent Pvt. Ltd. According to the company, the funds raised would be used for product development, hiring and marketing purposes.

eKincare competes with other electronic medical record (EMR) companies such as Mediangels, ViDoc, RxVault among others and some of which have even raised funding in the past. With the aim of easing digitisation of users’ medical records, the service is currently available in both Beta as well as an app.

“We are lowering all the barriers to consolidate one’s medical history by providing the platform for free to host all their medical records. We would decipher the info and convert it into a format (colour coded, graphical history and timeline) that is easy to understand.” said Kalakuntla.

“We see a great value in eKincare’s consolidation of medical history like in the west, and building a layer of analytics on top of it to drive healthy behaviour,” said Srinath DeviReddy, president, Adroitent.

Founded in September 2014 by Duke University alumnus Kiran Kalakuntla, eKincare provides personalised, preventive and predictive healthcare by keeping a record of users’ family history, medical details. It helps alarm the users about potential health risks, motivating them to take necessary preventive steps with regard to their health conditions. The platform which is free for the users also provides unlimited data storage and allows multiple profile management.

US based Androitent is a global technology and business process service provider that works on technology frameworks such as SOA, Open Source environment and mobile-enabling of healthcare platforms.

Last month, ekincare had raised funding from incubator-cum-seed fund Bitchemy Ventures.
